Who We Are
Keeping Esan heritage alive in Central Florida
We are a cultural, social, and charitable association of Esan people — from the highlands of Edo State, Nigeria — who now call Central Florida home. Since January 2011, EACF has been a gathering place for families to speak our language, share our food, honor our traditions, and support one another.
Our mission is threefold: to preserve and promote Esan culture for our children born abroad; to build a strong, supportive community for members in times of joy and in times of need; and to give back — both here in Florida and back home in Esanland — through education, outreach, and service.
The Mortar & Pestle
The heart of every Esan kitchen — pounded yam shared from one bowl. It stands for sustenance, hard work, and the family table where no one eats alone.
The Horsetail Whisk (Ozuzu)
Carried by elders and titled men and women, the whisk signifies honor, authority, and respect for tradition — the dignity we carry with us wherever we settle.
The Green & White
The colors of Nigeria behind both symbols remind us that our story begins at home — and that we represent Esanland proudly on foreign soil.
EACF Scholarship Program
2026 Scholarship Application Now Open
Every year, EACF awards scholarships to qualified students in our community. Applications are completed entirely online through the EACF scholarship portal.
Enrollment Begins
The scholarship portal opens for qualified students to complete and submit applications.
Renewal Applications Open
Current recipients who maintain the required academic criteria may apply to renew their scholarship.
Application Deadline
Application submission ends and the scholarship portal closes. No late entries.
Winners Announced
EACF announces the scholarship awards to the winners at our end-of-year celebration.

Gather with us through the year
From cultural celebrations to family picnics, EACF events are where our community comes together — and where our children fall in love with where they come from.
A full celebration of Esanland in Orlando — traditional attire, Esan cuisine, music, dance, and masquerade. Open to members, friends, and the wider Central Florida community.
We honor this year’s scholarship winners and celebrate academic excellence in our community — the heart of EACF’s investment in the next generation.
Regular member meetings keep the association strong, and our summer picnic brings every household together for food, games, and fellowship.
